I designed a fun task manager app to efficiently manage one’s daily chores. The focus was to create a fun user experience so that the users can stay motivated helping them to accomplish their daily chores effectively.
An in-depth user research was conducted to identify the pain points so that the most effective solution can be created.
For the user research, I conducted surveys and interviews with my target audience. I was primarily interested to learn about their behavior pattern and their pain points.
I conducted a survey of 25 participants using Google forms and 2 telephonic interviews.

For the market research, I conducted an in-depth analysis of existing similar apps in the market. Pros and cons for each of these was identified as well as a comparative study was conducted.
User Persona
Card Sorting
Card sorting was undertaken with 8 participants to generate information architecture for the app. The test was an open card sort and was conducted using two methods- in-person card sorting(4 participants) and online card sorting-Optimal sort(4 participants. The participants were asked to organize and label 36 topics into different groups within 25 minutes. It was mandatory to sort all cards and they were placed in a random order for each participant. .
Analysis
1. The information derived from the analysis suggests that the participants divided the cards into majorly 7-8 categories
2. The analysis also suggests that specific topics were organized together with a 100% agreement
3. With a 65% agreement, most of the other topics were grouped together within approximately 8 groups
4. The test suggests that the users are most comfortable in dividing the topics across categories with specific functions- App settings, user settings, task manager, progress, house tasks, schedule, activities and lists
